December 2011: Dancing on Ice star Zoe Salmon skated into Ballyhackamore last night to perform the village’s first ever Christmas lights ceremony.

Hundreds of people turned out for the big switch on last night (Dec 1) creating a fabulous community spirit. The new lights along the Upper Newtownards Road welcomed the huge crowd to the event organised by the Ballyhackamore Business Association.

March 2011: Jason Shankey has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Belfast Business Awards 2011.

The Belfast Champion award, in which Jason was nominated by a customer, seeks to honour a person living/ working in Belfast who is deemed to have made the most significant contribution to improving the quality of life of those living in the city. September 2006: A popular TV show recently featured Jason Shankey performing a live Male Grooming makeover.
